Made from cast glass and accented with 24k gold finish. While the cherry blossom, or sakura in Japanese, is viewed as a symbol of spring and new life in many cultures, it is also a reminder of the ephemeral nature of life due to its short season in bloom. The cherry blossom is the official flower of Japan, making cherry blossom season a particularly sacred time. Each year, typically around the very start of spring, cherry blossom festivals and viewings, also known as hanami, reveal the new blooms of pink and white to the world. This collection was made from Michael's private trip to The White House, where he had the opportunity to hand pick his own cherry blossom.
